Preliminary Drawings Approved
for New Eastside Library
We've officially entered the "Construction Documents Phase" of the Eastside library building project, now that the Vancouver Library Capital Facility Area (VLCFA) board has given their approval to the design concepts. The VLCFA board consists of the three Clark County Commissioners, who met on Nov. 27 to go over the plans.

"The commissioners had suggested several changes at an earlier meeting, and we were very pleased to be able to address their concerns," said Rita Levesque, Building Projects Manager. "At their suggestion, we integrated a continuous covered area from the south end of the Firstenburg Community Center to the library, so visitors can stay under cover between the two buildings. We're also going to put out a bucket of umbrellas for visitors to use and return at their next trip." See the designs on the building project page.
