As part of continuing efforts to bring expenses in line with a significantly reduced 2009 budget, the FVRL Board will take action Monday, Feb. 9 at Three Creeks Community Library on severe reductions to the district's books-by-mail services. More info and comment

A Visit with Harriet Tubman
Join us at this Inquiring Mind program featuring Karol and James Brown. Stories and songs introduce you to "Aunt" Harriet Tubman (played by Karol Brown) in her 92nd year, as she tells about her life as a slave, a free woman and a conductor for 19 trips on the Underground Railroad. Held Friday, February 27, 7:30 p.m. at the Old Liberty Theater in Ridgefield (115 N. Main Avenue). Underwriten by Friends of Ridgefield Community Library and Old Liberty Theater.

Tax-time help at the library
This is the 41st year that AARP Tax-Aide volunteers will be providing free tax assistance at area libraries and other community locations. The program is focused on helping low- and moderate-income taxpayers, with special attention to those age 60 or older. See a listing of locations and hours.

In Goldendale: Join us for a Valentine's Card Workshop for ages 9-14 at the Goldendale Community Library, on Thursday, February 12, 3:30 p.m. All materials will be provided.
In Clark County: Make Valentine's cards and enjoy snacks at Three Creeks Community Library on Friday, February 13, at 4:00 p.m. Best suited for kids ages 5 and up.
