One Book, One Community
Copper Sun - a powerful story about hope

book cover Copper Sun follows the story of Amari, a young girl living a perfect life in an African village. When slave traders invade her village, everything she knows disappears in an instant, and she begins the long, arduous path of a slave girl trying to survive. This book includes graphic details describing the hardships of slavery, as well as the death of several characters readers will come to know. This book is appropriate for ages 13 and up.
