NEW! Online calendar makes library events easy to view and track
There's a brand-new look and functionality to the district's online events calendar. You can search for events by location, date or type. We think you'll like the more complete event descriptions and the handy maps, too. Best of all, you can sign up for email reminders of events or an RSS feed.

Friends' Used Book Sales|
No sales scheduled for May or June, but check the new online calendar for sale dates and additional Friends activities through the rest of the year.
FVRL cardholders, you checked out 356,705 items during the month of March. That's three percent more than the 346,568 you checked out in March 2011. For the first three months of 2012, circulation increased nearly 10 percent over the same period in 2011. Happy reading!

|Big changes in store for the mall library in 2013
With a new lease for a 3,575 square-foot space beginning in January 2013, the current 7,275 square-foot Vancouver Mall Community Library will close for remodeling on Dec. 24. When the smaller facility opens in March or April 2013, patrons will enjoy a brand-new space that is tailored to providing the services and resources they need most. Read the district news release.
If you're a mall library user, you're invited to PROVIDE INPUT about some of the decisions to be made for the new space (deadline for providing input is Sunday, May 20).
Smart phone users:|
Keep your library barcode in your phone
Smartphone apps such as Key Ring and CardStar allow you to conveniently store a scannable copy of your library card barcode in your phone. Try it the next time you check out a book.
