Construction Updates

Battle Ground - Battle Ground future library Great news! The library district's purchase of the building at 1208 SE 8th Way in Battle Ground Village (constructed by Dennis Pavlina / The Gold Medal Group) was finalized on October 16. There's lots of activity at the site as the interior is being finished and turned into a library. We're on schedule for a grand opening in May 2009. Project page.

Cascade Park - Cascade Park construction Construction is underway! As you can see, the footings have been poured. The electrical and plumbing are also now in place in the floor, and we expect to see the concrete floor poured in the first week of December. Grand opening is estimated for late 2009 or early 2010. Project page.

Main Library - We're nearing the end of design development. Action on the design is planned at a special Vancouver Library Capital Facility Area (VLCFA) Board meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 9 at 9:30 a.m. in the Clark County Commissioners Hearing Room (the VLCFA Board -- who are also the Clark County Commissioners -- serves as the body that gives formal approval of the design for this voter-approved project). Read it b4 you see it
City of Ember Lots of great kids books are being made into movies. But why wait until you can see them in the theater? Read the books now and then see the movies later! I've also included other books by the authors -- see our current kids page feature: Read it b4 you see it.
