Battle Ground Library Ground Breaking
Oct. 4, 2007 event hosted by Friends

Friends of Battle Ground Community Library hosted a celebration of the future new library with a ground breaking event on Oct. 4, 2007. The event was organized and run by Jane and Don Higgins, co-chairs for the Friends' library building fundraising campaign. An enormous crowd gathered. In fact, so many people attended that not everyone could fit under the tents. Long-time building campaign champions and the many others who've provided their support for the project were recognized for their unfailing efforts to see a new library in the community.

Smoothing the earth back over was a little difficult to do with gravel! Don had to back up quite a ways to get a snapshot of everyone. Don and Jane Higgins are co-chairs of the Friends building project fundraising effort.
