Stop by the Washougal Community Library and experience the truly unique customer service our staff offers as we go the extra mile to meet your information needs.
Browse shelves that are packed with a diverse collection of books, CDs and non-fiction DVDs. You can search the Internet or type your report or resume free of charge using one of our public computers.
We offer many quality events to pique your interest. Get involved in our Gaming Group or bring your child to story time. We have book discussion groups for different age levels, including teens, parent/child and adults. Our library has become well known for its celebrations of poetry, and we invite you to get involved by attending a Poets' Circle meeting.

History:
- 1924: Washougal Women's Club organized. Soon after they established a reading room and a circulating library in the back of the Carpenter General Store on Main Street.
- 1930: Mrs. Mabel Moody willed her house on “E” Street to be used as a library and clubhouse. Later the library was given to the city.
- 1941: WPA bookmobile from Clark County Library stopped at the Washougal Library.
- 1944: Library moved to City Hall at 16th & “B.”
- 1946: Washougal contracted with Clark County Library.
- 1960: Library moved to 20th & “B” with 800 sq. ft. of space.
- 1981: Washougal voted to annex to FVRL District; current Library building, built by the city, opened.
