"Our Community Treasure"

This attractive library opened in May 2000 and features warm, natural colors, comfortable seating and a dramatic view of Mt. Hood.

Stop in and enjoy a wide range of local, state, regional and national magazines and newspapers. Select from a large collection of books, CDs and DVDs. Look through microfilms of local newspapers dating back to 1911 or census information back to 1857.

We provide free access to public computer stations that feature high-speed Internet access and Microsoft Office applications. You can also use library computers to access a number of research databases, with everything from homework help to car repair information, genealogy research, or help finding your next great read. Free high-speed wireless Internet access is available throughout the building for use with your personal wireless devices.

Popular library programs provide entertainment and learning opportunities for all ages -- see a list of upcoming events. We have a community meeting room, where there is often an art exhibit on display. Near the community meeting room is a Friends' book store that is open any time the library is open; gently used books are available for 50 cents for soft cover and $1 for hard cover.

This outstanding library facility was made possible through the generous donations of the community, including the SDS Lumber Company, the Stevenson family and the Friends of the White Salmon Valley Community Library, and the dedication of the library district. Come explore this beautiful community library and meet our knowledgeable staff who are ready to assist you with your information needs.
