Reading & Books
NEW! Sophie Reads
"Sophie the Otter Reads" is the name on 52 different themes of take-home kits for children 0-5 years and their parents. Each kit has books, a CD or DVD, a toy, and a resource guide and related non-fiction book for parents, on subjects ranging from monkeys to bedtime. A selection of kits may be found at libraries for checkout (sorry--no holds, no renewals).
Tumblebooks
Tumblebooks is a wonderful collection of animated, talking picture books, puzzles and resources for families.
The books will appeal to children ranging in age from preschoolers to eighth grade.
Due to the animation, these picture books require a DSL or Broadband connection and the most recent Flash plug-in to successfully play the stories.
