A break with charityby Ann Rinaldi
This story is a haunting portrayal of the Salem Witch Trials. It tells of Susannah English, a girl who finds herself drawn to a circle of girls who dabble with white magic. Susannah learns the secret behind the witch accusations, but is held by fear from telling what she knows. The book aptly tells the moving story of Susannah's involvement in the Salem Witch trials and gives the reader a good taste of what the trials were like.
I would recommend this book as a very good historical fiction novel. It perfectly blends the historical and fictional aspects of the story in a compelling tale. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a good read.

Gallows Hillby Lois Duncan
This is about a girl who is new to a town where she has no friends. She calls her mom by her first name. The whole reason they're in this psycho religious town is because her widowed mom fell in love. He has kids that don't like her. She can sometimes see things through a paper weight and she sometimes scares herself at what she sees. She meets a guy friend (but they're not going out, yet) and they go through some things together.
I would recommend this book if you like to get the chills down your spine. It didn't scare me, but it made me think.

Hindenburg 1937by Cameron Dokey
This book is historical fiction and romance mixed together. The Main
character, Anna Becker, is forced to board the Hindenburg when her
grandfather dies, and her brother wants to rule her life for her. Aboard the
Hindenburg Anna Becker meets her old love, Karl Meuller and her new love
Erik Peterson. Anna is forced to make many challenging and difficult
decisions during her trip from Germany To America. While her 2 lovers battle
to win her over!
I recommend this book because you won't be able to stop thinking about
it for many days! Also because every girl can relate to Anna in some way so
much that it is almost like you are her. You will not be able to put this
book down. It is intense, surprising, and at the same time very secretive.
EVERY GIRL NEEDS TO READ THIS!

The Poisonwood Bibleby Barbara Kingsolver
This novel tells the story of a 1960's family who goes on a mission to the Congo just prior to the latter's independence from Belgium. Told through the eyes of the mother and four daughters, The Poisonwood Bible details their culture shock, struggles with extreme poverty, and family issues. It provides an exceptionally unbiased view of what the general populace goes through when corruption seizes their government.
I would recommend this book without a moment's hesitation. It is masterfully written — each character has her own style of writing — powerful, and moving. Kingsolver's bestselling novel sheds light on the extreme differences between American and Congolese culture and makes us realize just how spoiled we are.
