Wireless Printing Service

Wireless printing at FVRL locations is available only during operational hours, and is limited to devices running Mac OSX and Windows XP/7/8/10 operating systems. Print jobs must be completed and picked up from the print-release station before the library closes for the day; jobs will not be retained overnight. The use of this wireless printing service requires the download and installation of software on your device; Fort Vancouver Regional Library District accepts no liability for damages or changes to your device resulting from the installation of this software.

If you are a first time user:

  1. If you've never printed or used an internet station in the library, you'll need to log onto one, use a payment kiosk, or ask staff to create a SAM account before you can print wirelessly.
  2. Download the software: click Here for Windows XP/7/8/10 users or click Here for Mac OSX Users
  3. Double-click the downloaded software to install. You may have to override security settings in both Mac and Windows to install the software. Please follow the instructions on your device.
  4. A small window will appear on the bottom right corner of your desktop.
  5. Click on Start Print Session, and then enter your library card number and PIN.
  6. Click on FVRL Wireless Printing and click OK to start the service.
  7. At this point, any print job you submit to the "Wireless Printer" can be retrieved at a Library Print Release Station.

If you are a returning user:

  1. Start the Wireless Print System software:
For Windows XP/7/8/10: Go to Start --> Programs --> Wireless Library Print System --> Wireless Print System
For Mac OSX: Go to Finder --> Applications --> Print Control
  2. A small window will appear on the bottom right corner of your desktop.
  3. Click on Start Print Session, and then enter your library card number and PIN.
  4. Click on FVRL Wireless Printing and click OK to start the service.
  5. At this point, any print job you submit to the "Wireless Printer" can be retrieved at a Library Print Release Station.

If you are having problems:

Try uninstalling the software following the instructions below. Then download the software again and reinstall. As computers get updates, the software manufacturer releases a new version of the software for download, but the Wireless Printing software does not automatically update.
