Welcome Summer! The Fort Vancouver Regional Library District is open and ready for you to find the perfect beach read, scope out the hottest best seller, learn a new language, or brush up on your gardening skills. Our libraries are open and ready to serve your reading, listening, and viewing needs.
Summer at Your Library
FVRLibraries is excited to kick-off another great summer learning program for our fifteen community library locations. You can win prizes and have fun with our cryptid crew this year while you READ, CREATE, LEARN and EXPLORE. Summer at Your Library runs from June 15 to August 15. Check out our website for more information about how to sign up as well as to see a list of virtual and local events.
Revolutionary Reads
COVID-19 has revolutionized the way we live, work, and interact with each other. On August 16, join us virtually for this year’s Revolutionary Reads, a panel discussion with five of the authors of Alone Together: Love, Grief & Comfort in the Time of COVID-19, winner of the 2021 Washington State Book Award. This collection of essays, poems, and interviews were compiled at the beginning of the pandemic to serve as a lifeline during a stressful time of uncertainty and isolation.
The author panel discussion will feature Claudia Castro Luna, Jennifer Haupt, Pam Houston, Major Jackson, and Sonora Jha. The panel will be moderated by Nancy Pearl. Each author will read from their work and join us in the conversation. We'll also be hosting discussions about the book at libraries around our district. Complimentary copies of the book will be available at FVRLibraries locations in July, while supplies last.
June is Pride Month
FVRL remains committed to doing all we can to offer welcoming libraries, where everyone in our communities feels valued and empowered to succeed. We believe libraries are for everyone! This month, we are PROUD to offer a great selection of books and other materials reflecting the LGBTQAI++ community. Look for the Pride display at all locations and on our website.
Library Meeting Rooms Are Back!
We’re happy to announce that our public meeting rooms and study spaces are once again available for public reservations.
Open Hours
Most FVRLibraries are open from 10 am to 6 pm, Monday through Saturday. Some locations are open longer, check your local library’s schedule for a complete list of days and hours.
Curbside Service
Many of our users have let us know how much they have appreciated the convenience of curbside pickups for library holds. We will continue to offer curbside, although hours may vary at different locations based on staff availability.
Online Resources
Still not ready to come back in person? You can also access our 24/7 digital library resources on our website to access the thousands of eBooks, eAudiobooks, music, movies, and much more online.
Continuing COVID-19 Precautions
We have hopefully turned the page on COVID, but we continue to face other challenges from supply chain shortages, inflation and uncertainty in global events. Hand sanitizer and disposable masks are available at all service desks and at the entrance to the library. Feel free to use them when you visit.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us at ask.fvrl.org or call us at 360-906-5000. We look forward to serving you at your local library!
