Check It Out: Flower Power

Submitted by J. Johnston on Wed, 04/06/2022 - 11:11

April showers may bring May flowers, but Mother Nature doesn’t wait until May. Take a look around, and you’ll see flowers springing up everywhere. So lovely are the daffodils and cherry blossoms adorning our yards and parks right now—and I can hardly wait for tulips and iris to join the blossom parade. Spring is so much fun!

Much has been written about flowers—how to grow, how to arrange, how to appreciate—and the library is the perfect place to find a favorite floral-themed read. Sometimes less is more, so I will keep this column brief and let the words of others speak to the beauty of blooms.

In joy or sadness, flowers are our constant friends –Okakura Kakuzo
