Volunteer Requirements
Background checks for volunteers age 18 and older are required by Washington law and help us ensure that all who visit, work, and volunteer at the library can feel confident in the safety and trust of our community spaces.
In addition, all volunteers agree to follow FVRLibraries policies. Our policies include:

Make a Difference
Here are a few ways volunteers make our libraries wonderful places to learn and build community:
- Program Assistance: Teen Council, leading gaming groups, language conversation circles, reading with certified therapy dogs, and Summer at Your Library
- Office Assistance: Sorting box labels, labeling books, and processing craft requests
- Used Book Store Assistance: Receiving donations, sorting books, stocking shelves, and helping customers
- Fundraiser Assistance: Supporting the Friends of the Library and the FVRL Foundation.
