FVRLibraries offers eBooks in different formats for eReaders (like Kindle, Nook, Kobo) and for the Kindle app. Here’s how it works:
-
Find and borrow eBooks
- Search in the FVRLibraries catalog, the OverDrive website, or the Libby app.
- Borrow the title and choose your preferred format (like Kindle or EPUB).
-
For Kindle and Kindle app users
- After borrowing, you’ll be sent to the Amazon website.
- Sign in, pick your device, and click Get Library Book.
- The book will appear in your Kindle library—just like a purchased title.
- Need help finding Kindle titles?
-
For other eReaders (Nook, Kobo, etc.)
- Use a computer to browse and check out eBooks.
- Download and transfer eBooks to Kindle / Nook / Kobo
-
Returning and renewing eBooks
- eBooks return automatically when your checkout period ends.
- You can renew titles in Libby or on the OverDrive website if it’s within three days of the due date and there are no holds.
- For Kindle books, renew the title and then remove and re-download it from your Amazon account.
Why aren’t all titles available in Kindle format?
Kindle format depends on Amazon—it’s not always available for every title. If you can’t find a Kindle version, let us know and we’ll pass the request to OverDrive.
