Seed Libraries

Grow something new.
Share what grows.

The Seed Library is a free resource that helps gardeners of all ages and skill levels grow their own food and flowers. Visit participating libraries in Battle Ground, Cascade Park, Vancouver, Washougal, and White Salmon Valley to pick up seeds—and return some at the end of the season if you’re able.

No library card required. but we’re happy to sign you up

Learn More About the Seed Library

How it Works

  • Borrow up to 3 seed packets per visit.
  • Plant them at home and enjoy watching your garden grow.
  • At the end of the season, save seeds from your healthiest plants and bring a few back to share.

Envelopes are available at the library—just label and date any seeds you return. Hybrid seeds may not “grow true,” so saving from heirloom varieties is best. Store seeds in a cool, dry place.

Why Seed Lending Matters

  • Helps preserve unique, locally adapted plant varieties

  • Strengthens our regional food system

  • Connects gardeners across the community

  • Supports pollinators and biodiversity

  • Keeps gardening accessible for everyone
