Women’s History Month

Exploring Women's History Month

Observed each March, Women’s History Month recognizes and celebrates the vital role of women in American history.

How does FVRLibraries celebrate this month?

Fort Vancouver Regional Libraries celebrates Women’s History Month each March.  First established as Women’s History Week in 1981, it was expanded to a month-long observance in 1987. This month highlights the resilience, creativity, and impact of women across generations.

Through books, programs, and resources, FVRLibraries invites our communities to honor women’s contributions, learn from their stories, and be inspired by their legacies.

Help Us Grow & Improve

We are always looking for ways to expand our collections and programming so that they are interesting and inclusive to the communities we serve. To this end, our community is encouraged to submit original programming and resource selections for us to consider.

Have ideas from programming? We’d love to hear suggestions for cultural events, educational presentations, book discussions, and community celebrations.

Know of great resources we should add? Help us discover books, films, music, or other materials that would enrich our collections.
