Our annual community book club and programming series kicks off on August 15 with free copies of Crisis on Mount Hood: Stories from a Hundred Years of Mountain Rescue by Christopher Van Tilburg available for pick up at White Salmon Valley Community Library. Then join us in October for special activities and expert presentations as we dive into Crisis on Mount Hood, explore the history of America's oldest search and rescue team, and examine the modern challenges facing our regional peaks.
All events are held at White Salmon Valley Community Library, are free, and no registration is required.

This year's selection is by Christopher Van Tilburg and spotlights the ways outdoor recreation has changed over time, the challenging effects of climate change, and the unwavering passion of search and rescue volunteers.
Free copies of the book are available at White Salmon Valley Community Library beginning August 15, while supplies last, and they're yours to keep.
