Pets, Our Smallest Family Members

It’s National Pet Month, sponsored by the National Office of Animal Health. Because pets are so important to my family, I’m going to talk on a more personal level this week. We have three dogs in our household. Shmoo, the little black poodle mix who is the oldest and smallest, was adopted from the Las Vegas Humane Society. Lola, the middle-aged dachshund mix, was adopted from the Humane Society for SW Washington. Gemma, the teen-aged mini Aussie, was rehomed through Adopt a Pet. Our girl pack brings us joy - and noise, and mess- every single day. If you have the resources, a pet can add a lot to your life.
