Can I reserve a meeting room for a birthday party or other celebration?

No, birthday parties and most other celebrations are not allowed in our meeting rooms. Our Meeting Space Usage Policy states that reservations for our meeting rooms must be free and open to the public and that we do not allow private meetings or events. Celebrations like birthday parties are clearly private events, even if you choose the option that it could be open to the public.

For a fee, you can reserve the Columbia Room at Vancouver Community Library (downtown) to hold a private event, including a birthday party. Reserving meeting rooms for celebrations is not permitted at any of our other locations.

Find more information about reserving Vancouver Community Library's Columbia Room, and the associated fees. You are welcome to contact the library if you have any questions about this policy.
